Thank
you to everyone who has been active at Boot Camp in July.
The 100th class was great and the breakfast at The Turning
Point was a lot of fun for those who could make it. Second,
congratulations to everyone who ran in the Party with
Purpose 5k on July 17th. Finally, in an effort to provide
you with more information related to your health concerns
I will slowly be adding articles to the website for you
to review. Check out the first few topics below.

| Proper
Hydration Tips |
 |
Staying properly hydrated is always important, especially
in these hot summer months. So what's better, water or a sports
drink? The short answer, for exercise under 1 hour water is
still your best choice. Sports drinks like Gatorade will just
add calories that you are exercising feverishly to work off.
However, for intense exercise lasting longer than an hour
sports drinks become essential. Sports drinks provide a small
amount of carbohydrates and electrolytes individuals need
for endurance sports like distance running or trialthons.

Fighting Fatigue |
 |
|
We all seem to fight fatigue at one point in the day.
What you don't realize is there is a lot you can do to minimize
those tired and lethargic feelings. While not getting enough
sleep is the cause of many problems, less people are aware
of how dehydration can sap energy during the day. In addition
getting the right balance of carbohydrates, proteins and
fats as well as avoiding simple carbohydrates will allow
you to stay more energetic throughout the day.

Keeping Cool in Hot Weather |
 |
|
I am always surprised every summer to see people out running
in the midday heat without any water. Outdoor exercise can
be challenging when the temperature soars. Stay safe by
drinking enough fluids, wearing proper clothing and timing
your workout to avoid extreme heat.
